It’s not a performance

There are a lot of discussions around whether or not we should encourage people to sing in group settings.

I’ve had opportunities to sing in several different churches recently and I have been really impressed with the ways that we can still participate together, even if we’re not singing together.

 

Balancing Pact

I am happiest on the days that I can be both a musician AND a mom.

But being a mom is so all consuming that it’s easy to get absorbed in THAT and stop making time for music. 

What happens next is usually not a pretty picture…here’s a peek at what happens.

Are you a Bible study drop out too?

I must confess that I have dropped out of many Bible studies, because other people would read passages in the Bible and then come to the discussion with all kinds of deep insights that I just did NOT understand.

And I would feel SO lost and convinced that other people are just way deeper than I am.

This podcast describes what I’ve found helps me apply the Bible to my daily life.

(And I’ve since joined a small group in my church…much less pressure to be “deep” and more along the lines of a support group for life!) 

How to adjust to “regular” life

I went straight from college to boot camp, an extreme change, then on to “A” school, which was yet another new reality.

It’s similar to what we’re all experiencing right now, where our reality from six months ago was ripped away, we went into something extremely restricted, and now it’s like sort of normal, but not.
